The idea of CANtunes came about when we were marketing our own album (Brittlestar, 'waiting').  Getting the CD released in the USA wasn't a problem at all, but making it available in Canada seemed impossible.  It was frustrating because even though the album was readily available to over 300 million Americans, there was no easy way for us to make it available to our Canadian fans who wanted to buy it from a Canadian retailer.  CANtunes was the solution.

     The CANtunes idea is simple.

     Canadian artists who have a CD to sell can sell it through our site.  We handle the credit card payments, taxes, packaging and shipping in exchange for a small cut of the sale.

     Canadian music lovers can find their favourite independent Canadian artists CD's on CANtunes and buy them in Canadian dollars without the worry or delay of cross-border shipping.

     In the near future we hope to be able to sell MP3 downloads of our listed artists as well.

     It's our hope that CANtunes will grow in the same grassroots way that great independent music does...one person at a time.
